Bathrooms and repairs in Hanahan

A small city just north of North Charleston

Hanahan is a small Berkeley County city just north of North Charleston, with established streets of single-story homes and newer subdivisions such as Tanner Plantation. In the established neighborhoods the hall bath often still has its first tub and tile; in the newer ones, the builder tub in the primary suite is the usual thing people want gone.

Tub-to-shower conversions and full remodels

If you rarely use the tub, a tub-to-shower conversion gives you a bigger, easier shower in the same footprint. A standard tub alcove is about five feet wide, which leaves room for a niche framed between the studs and, if you like, a small bench at one end. The old tub comes out, the walls are rebuilt with cement board and waterproofing, the valve and drain are updated, and porcelain goes up.

Finish choices are wide open: large white tiles, marble-look porcelain, wood-look planks on the walls or a patterned mosaic on the shower floor.

Kitchen cabinets and island details
