Bathroom remodels handled start to finish

We remodel bathrooms for homeowners in Summerville, Charleston, Mount Pleasant, North Charleston and the islands. Palmetto Prestige Stone & Flooring handles the whole job: demolition, framing, the plumbing and electrical updates, cement board and waterproofing, porcelain tile, the vanity and its stone top, trim and doors. Hall bath or primary suite, you talk with the owner, and he's on site through every stage.

What a bathroom remodel with us includes

  • Demolition, down to the studs when the walls or the shower need it
  • Framing for shower niches and benches
  • Plumbing and electrical updates for the new shower, vanity and lighting
  • Cement board and waterproofing behind tiled shower walls
  • Porcelain and ceramic tile on walls, floors and shower floors
  • A new vanity with a quartz, granite or marble top
  • Tile or luxury vinyl plank flooring
  • Trim, interior doors (including pocket doors) and paint

Want a smaller update? We also replace just the vanity, the floor or the shower.

Tiled walk-in showers built for your space

The shower is where a remodel shows its quality, so we build it in layers: framing and plumbing first, then cement board, then waterproofing, then tile set level with tight grout lines. Niches and benches are framed before the tile goes up, so they line up with the tile pattern instead of being added later.

Large-format porcelain, marble-look tile and mosaic shower floors all appear in the projects below.

Tub-to-shower conversions

If the tub mostly collects dust, we can take it out and build a tiled walk-in shower in the same space, with new shower fixtures, waterproofing and tile. In the project shown here, the old tub and its tile surround came out, the walls were rebuilt, and the finished shower has marble-look porcelain walls, a recessed niche and a mosaic floor.

Vanities and countertops

A new vanity changes a bathroom quickly. We remove the old cabinet, set the new one level, install the top, sink and faucet, and finish the wall and floor around it. Single or double, standard or built to fit.

Quartz, granite and marble vanity tops are made with our local stone fabrication partner. Thiago has worked with countertops for about ten years, so the top, the sink cutout and the backsplash are planned together with the cabinet.

What affects the cost of a bathroom remodel

We price each bathroom after seeing it, because the same small bath can be a vanity swap or a full remodel. These are the things that move the number:

  • Scope: a new vanity and floor, a tub-to-shower conversion, or the whole room down to the studs.
  • Layout: keeping the toilet, drain and shower valve where they are costs less than moving them.
  • Tile: size, material and pattern, and how much of the wall is tiled. Large-format tile needs flatter walls and more prep.
  • Shower details: niches, benches and mosaic floors.
  • Vanity and top: cabinet size, one sink or two, and the stone you choose.
  • What's behind the walls: water damage or soft framing found during demolition has to be fixed before new work goes in.

The way to get a real number is to have us see the room. Call (843) 591-5134.

Bathroom remodeling questions

How much does a bathroom remodel cost?

It depends on the scope, the layout, the tile and what's behind the walls. We price each bathroom after seeing it. Call (843) 591-5134 to set that up.

How long does a bathroom remodel take?

It depends on the scope. A vanity swap is a short job. A full remodel with a tiled shower takes longer, because each layer (framing, cement board, waterproofing, tile and grout) is done in order. We'll talk timing once we've seen the room.

Can you convert my tub into a walk-in shower?

Yes. We remove the tub and build a tiled shower in its place, with new shower fixtures, waterproofing and tile. See the tub-to-shower project above.

Do you handle the plumbing and electrical?

Yes. The plumbing and electrical work a bathroom remodel needs is part of our project, so you don't have to hire separate trades.

Do you install bathroom countertops?

Yes. We plan the vanity top with you, and quartz, granite and marble tops are made and installed with our local stone fabrication partner.

Is your work under warranty?

Yes. Our 1-Year Limited Workmanship Warranty covers defects caused by our workmanship for one year from completion, including the labor and materials to fix them. Product defects fall under the manufacturer's warranty. Read the full terms.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes. We're licensed and carry general liability and workers' compensation insurance.

Will I deal with a salesperson?

No. You talk with Thiago, the owner, from the first call, and he's on site checking every stage of the work.

What areas do you serve?

We're based in Summerville and remodel bathrooms in Charleston, Mount Pleasant, North Charleston, West Ashley, Daniel Island, James Island, Folly Beach, Kiawah Island, Sullivan's Island, Hanahan and Moncks Corner, plus Isle of Palms, Johns Island and Seabrook Island. See all areas.

How can I pay?

We accept credit and debit cards, Zelle, checks and cash.
