Between downtown Charleston and Folly Beach.

Palmetto Prestige Stone & Flooring remodels bathrooms and kitchens for James Island homeowners, on the island between downtown Charleston and Folly Beach. We also build custom built-ins, put down new floors and build or rebuild decks. James Island is about 50 minutes from our Summerville base without traffic, and the owner answers your call and works on site.
James Island is laced with tidal creeks and marsh, shaded by live oaks, and ringed by water from the Wappoo Cut to the harbor at Fort Johnson. A large public park sits near its middle, and Maybank Highway leads over to Johns Island. Politically it's split between the Town of James Island, the City of Charleston and unincorporated pockets.
Homes range from older brick and frame houses near the water, some on raised foundations, to newer neighborhoods. With that much water around, moisture shows up everywhere: in bathrooms, under floors and on exterior wood.
Plenty of lots back up to a creek or a private dock, and the mature trees drop leaves and pollen on decks, railings and screens. Exterior wood in that kind of shade needs regular sealing or paint to last.
What goes behind the shower tile matters as much as the tile: backer board and a waterproofing membrane first, then porcelain set level, a niche or a bench, and a new vanity with a stone top. See bathroom remodeling.
We build kitchen cabinets from scratch when a standard size won't fit and supply and install them when it will. Countertops are made with our local stone fabrication partner. See kitchen remodeling and custom cabinets.
Beyond the kitchen, we build fireplace walls with shelving on either side, TV walls, bookcases, pantries and closets, made to fit the room. See custom carpentry.

Folly Beach, Johns Island and West Ashley are a short drive away, and we serve them as well.
Each card shows the work itself. The area under it is one we serve, not the project's location.
