Remodeling on Sullivan's Island and Isle of Palms
Palmetto Prestige Stone & Flooring remodels bathrooms and kitchens for houses on Sullivan's Island and neighboring Isle of Palms. We also set tile, replace floors, paint inside and out, and build fences. Sullivan's is about 55 minutes from our Summerville base without traffic, and the owner is on site through every stage.
Old cottages, raised beach houses
Sullivan's Island sits at the mouth of Charleston Harbor, reached over the Ben Sawyer Bridge, with Fort Moultrie at one end, the island lighthouse in the middle and Breach Inlet separating it from Isle of Palms. Streets are still known by their old station numbers along Middle Street. Isle of Palms adds Front Beach, the Connector to Mount Pleasant and the Wild Dunes resort.
Housing on both islands runs from small older cottages to large raised beach houses. Salt spray, sand and humid summers wear on finishes quickly, and a lot of island kitchens and baths are compact or oddly shaped because of how the houses were built or raised.
Sand blows into everything, from screen porches to door thresholds, and palmettos and dune grass grow right up to many of the houses.
