Palmetto Prestige Stone & Flooring remodels bathrooms and kitchens for owners on Kiawah Island and neighboring Seabrook Island. We build tiled showers, make custom cabinets, install tile and floors, and retile or repaint pool decks. Kiawah is about an hour and a half from our Summerville base without traffic, and the owner stays with the job from start to finish.
Kiawah is a barrier island with about ten miles of Atlantic beach, maritime forest, marsh along the Kiawah River and golf courses such as the Ocean Course. Seabrook sits next door, near Bohicket Marina. Many homes on both islands are second homes or vacation houses that can stand closed for long stretches, with the air conditioning set back and the salt air working on everything.
That's why materials matter here: porcelain on shower floors, cement board and a waterproofing layer behind tiled walls, quartz or sealed stone on vanities, and fixtures with finishes suited to a coastal climate.
Much of the island around the houses is left in its natural state.
Guest baths in a vacation house see a lot of use. We build walk-in showers with a niche or a bench, take out tubs nobody uses, and update vanities, mirrors and floors. See bathroom remodeling.
Kitchens here are often large and open to the living area and the view. We build custom cabinets to the room, or supply and install them, and plan quartzite, granite or marble countertops with our local stone fabrication partner.
